This year marked the 4th consecutive year of Mono Film’s attendance of the 61st Cannes Film Festival & Marche du Film held from May 14-May 23, 2008. Once again, the company was relocated to a new stand location in the Riviera next to the Buyer’s Lounge at #G29. Despite the wet & gloomy weather, a new stand location, a returning film line-up, and a rather slow market, Mono Film was able to meet with new & returning clients to introduce & promote their new tear-jerking drama titled “Happy Birthday” starring Ananda Everingham and directed by Pongpat Wachirabunjong, scheduled to be theatrically released domestically by the end of 2008.
Discussions & pending deals also took place throughout the film market for the company’s returning titles Siyama: Village of Warriors & Pahuyut: Fighting Beat..

Mono Film @ HK Filmart 2008
2008 marks Mono Film’s 4th consecutive year as an exhibitor at the HK Filmart where this year due to the added number of exhibitors moved to a much larger exhibition hall in the new wing of the HK exhibition center.
Mono Film’s stand location 1D14, D16 proved to be quite a noticeable location despite a few buyers getting lost with the new set-up.
Mono film was able to presale their new horror flick titled THE FOLLOWER due to start production this summer in June with a planned theatrical released for late December of this year. As returning VENGEANCE director, Pleo Sirisuwan, has been hand-picked to direct MF’s first horror film because of his expertise in the mystery, thriller, & suspense genres. This film has caught the eye of many buyers from different territories anticipating to view footage by the next markets.
Other titles that were closed at HK Filmart were Siyama: Village of Warriors, Pahuyut: Fighting Beat, & The Gig.
